Basically the squeaking noise you are hearing is due to the metal indicator peg inside your brake pads becoming exposed, this is put in by Honda to make you aware that your brake pads are worn and will need to be replaced.

The metal peg touches your brake disc and you hear the squeal, it sometimes squeals even if your not using your brake.

Your probably better to get them checked and/or replaced sooner rather that later, the reason is the longer you leave then squeaking, the more chance there is of the indicator peg starting to grind into your shiny brake discs! we of course you dont want!

Home this helps

The indicater peg grinds the edge of the disc and not the surface.

This much that you can drive to local honda service to change pads.

Everybody can follow brake pads wearing.
This do not tell that is front or rear pads out, you can assume how wear pads are.
Look at your Brake fluid level. All new pads level should be at the MAX mark, all pads worn out level should be MIN mark or it can be under but i think that never don't let it go under because in brake situation it can suck air to the brake fluid line's then you have dangerous brakes and you need brake aerating.

So brake fluid level moves between min/max mark whit brake pads wear.

I have this exact noise (brake squeel and when driving at low speeds)
but my pads have 50% life left in them
Brakes are greased correctly
Pads and disc are clean
Whats causing this annoying squeel??

I think it's a mystery. I pulled mine apart several times and re greased them. This didn't stop the squeeking. It's a common problem on EPs though, so i wouldn't worry about it.

I recently changed to Greenstuff pads on the front and the squeeking has stopped.

So it definately wasnt the discs?

I don't think so. Although i did change the discs aswel so it might have been. More likely to be the pads I'd say. Even the greenstuff pads squeek now and again

Hmm i dont see how the pads are causing the squeek due to them not rotating with the wheel.
It seems like something on the disc is catching as it goes around.
...I just dont wanna buy new pads then it turns out to be the disc lol.

Could either be the rotor not torqued up properly and vibrating, incorrect caliper alignment or contamination on the pads. If it goes away when you put new pads in you know it's the latter.

I don't know if it works with car brakes but you can put a SMALL blob of copperslip behind the pads and that sometimes stops the squealing.

Best way to get to the bottom of it is (as always) a strip down and cleaning of all mounting surfaces (caliper and rotor) you would be surprised how much better brakes get after cleaning all the crap away. Build back up, torque to required amount and you're good to go.

Also a good time to do some painting if you're that way inclined

Might as well put my personal experience here. My brakes squeal if they're cold. When they warm up the squeling goes away.

Usually it's a build up of brake dust made worst by cheaper low grade pads, if the pads are running low it's more of a grinding noise you will hear

All pads has these metal things, which make that noise, I just cut it off, and noise disapears.
p.s if u hear that noise u pads arent worn off, u can easily ride a month or more with it

FTW?
If your brake's squeal so your brake bads are worn out, CHANGE THEM do not cut the brake bads wear indicator off.

They aren't worn out totally but it is not recommended to drive brake bads all out.

I am driving with in 1 months and it brakes as it should and still brake pads arent worn out completly. Indicator is on ewery pad, so if u cut it drom old ones, it will be on new ones, cutting just for taking off noise.
