how are the pads , have you stripped down the brakes to see everything is ok and free, the springs on the back of caliper are moving freely etc.

where did you adjust it from.

Ive got a similar problem with mine! I can pull the handbrake up and the car still moves fine also the discs are pretty dull and pitted. Could it be seized calipers or something?

can be many things, seized pistons, seized caliper slides , seized springs for hinging the cable. the piston could need adjusted up aswell as the cable.

Good rear brakes service and adjust.
New pads, greasing, cleaning and right kind of adjust to the pistons, handbrake cables check and adjust.

My handbrake works good but i use it every week. little tip: Use while driving example when you come traffic lights.

the piston screws forward and back in the caliper you want to wind it right out so its a hard squeeze geting it over the pads also check the spring at the back of the caliper , lever a screwdriver into see it moves freely enough if not thats your problem.

Hi mate.

You have to reset the callipers.
To do this you need to loosen the adjuster bolt at the handbrake lever right down till its on the last threads, then pump the footbrake quite hard 20 - 30 times, then screw the adjuster nut back up till it holds the car after about 4 - 6 clicks.
