Does fitting a strut bar make any difference to the balance/handling or is it just a gimmick?

Its the same as everything else tbh. The more you spend the better it will be. I personally have got an E-tech brace, and can say it did slightly tighten up the steering, definitely noticeable on roundabouts. However I would imagine this would be emphasised by lowering the car aswell.

The effect the strut bar makes increases as you lower it.

What the strut bar does is stiffen up the chassis. You can't see it but when you turn corners etc the whole chassis of the car flexes and warps slightly. The strut bar decreases this effect and makes your car feel sharper ,stiffer and pokier in the corners :D

Watch that video. At about 1:45 into the video the guy does a little test using a strut bar cut in half. And he simulates the car turning hard into a corner. You can see how much the chassis actually flexes!

Some people have fitted the E-tech one over the top of the airbox. I had to take out the resonator box, but even then it rattled badly against the airbox. I'm not sure which (if any) fit around it. The J's Racing struts look like they stick further forward into the engine bay than mine, but I'm not certain if it'll fit. It's a great excuse for buying an induction kit though :D

Yeah, I noticed the intake too, does it make any difference?
The manifold looks nice :D but the ind kit could do with a cold air feed as it could be picking up a lot of hot air from the manifold with no heat shield :D

Back on topic - watched the video link, think i might check out :D, see how much the strut bars are :)

I got the intake manifold custom made by APE garage. Thanks to steve (Remould), he was a big help in this :D
And i'm planning on putting the battery in the back of the car, so that i can place the filter a bit further to the front. So that it sits right behind the headlight and make a custom air box to, to prevent heat soak :D
These are plans for this summer tho.

I have a blox airfilter with velocity stack and custom APE-garage piping.
If you want to know more, pm me to keep offtopic to a minimum.
