Well ive tried to tax my car online this morning, went onto the DVLA website and ticked all the boxes,

next it asked for the reference number, well there aint a reference number printed on my sheet! in the picture showing you were it is mines blank!

getting pretty fed up i then realise on my letter in big bold letters

' The online and phone service to tax or make a SORN is not available for your vehicle.

You will still need to apply to a Post Office or a DLVA local office as applicable for your vehicle. '

Why cant i just tax the bloody thing online like normal!!!!

That's strange mate, i managed to tax my car online no problem on Saturday...

possibly because on 1st may the rates go up, £215/year instead of £210/year

it could be to do with the MOT/Insurance mate... more the MOT tbh..

the Mrs couldnt do hers and she found out that when she last had the MOT done, the garage didnt update it with the DVLA or something... therefore she couldnt do it online as they didnt know she had a valid MOT.

ill have to check when the MOT is due on it, im sure it was done when i bought it.

my dad forgot to get his mot done and was only reminded when he got his tax, it was four months overdue

could be because you aint actually had the car that long and their records aint all updated yet....

dont be lazy and get down to the post office! left it a bit late to tax online anyway as it takes forever to turn up...

I taxed mine online a few weeks ago, Came in 3 days too. Mine was £210 i think for the year? Cant honestly remember

yeh its £210 at the mo, but i got to pay £325 for my holiday in 3 days so im skint, 6 month's tax FTW

I thought it was going into the High tax bracket for vehicles over 2004 or something like that, with the high co2 rating.

Was meant to be going up to £300 this month but becaquse of the credit cruch and that the goverment decided not to bother.
