Hi guys - picked up my cosmic grey ep2 on Saturday, but can help thinking there may be something wrong with the accelerator pedal. It feels very stiff compared to my old car, just wondering if this is normal for the civics or if maybe my throttle cable needs looking at. I quite like it the way it is but just want reassurance of this.
Thanks, Luke

Mine sticks a bit when you first push it, then after a few cm of travel it lightens up and is fine. Is that what yours is doing? I was going to get it looked at, but read it's another common problem on EPs. It took a bit of getting used to (plenty stalling) but I don't even notice it anymore

No mine is the opposite, the first few cm has quite a lot of play in it and seems very loose. But after those few cm's, it becomes very tight and quite hard to push in, I'm slowly getting used to it I suppose lol just wondered if it was anything to worry about.
Thanks for your help

Mine is the same as martins. Stiff at first and then its fine. Makes things interesting when trying to drive gently through start/stop traffic...

alot of people who have an aftermarket induction kit experiance this as the jubilee clip catchs the throttle bodie clip which houses the cable/turns the butterfly causing it to be tight.

as for woody being the opposite adjust the cable beside throttle bodie to take up the play.

Mine was the same before I got an induction kit, so that's probably not whats causing mine to stick...

just undo the clip lift up slightly and retighten move the throttle to full positon with engine off a few times to check on clearance

martin its a common fault that also the standard airbox clip catches it , honda themselves issued a recall at one point for it lol i had the fun of doing it lol

You should remove your airbox or induction kit to get a look at the butterfly in the throttle body there might be a build up of stuff around it that causes the butterfly to stick at first. If there is a black line around it clean it off. It's easy and can be done by yourself.

If there is a line stuff round the butterfly in the throttle clean it off and that should stop it sticking at light throttle. If that doesn't stop it sticking it will be the cable and that's not hard to fit yourself.
