When blanking EGR the EML comes on though. Will need to 6mm hole in the blanking plate I think. Do you just have blacking plate on its own ATM?

Getting a catch tank is a good shout, helps stop it all getting clogged up, etc

Yh but when you block off the EGR surely all the shite gets gathered in the charcoal canister behind the airfilter? Kind of works like a catch can.

Charcoal canister's are for petrol's mate. Not sure which part your thinking of.
When you put the blanking plate on, all your doing is stopping exhaust gasses travel up a pipe. So the exhaust manifold is sealed onto the turbo in effect.
If you add in a catch tank, your taking away the oil vapours. there is a small black pipe that runs from the cam cover, into the Turbo intake pipe. There may be a one way valve oni there too, but nothing else.
Plug the Turbo intake Pipe end and leave the cam cover open, add a little filter on there, or re-direct into a catch tank.
My engine doesn't use a drop of oil, so im assuming not much goes out. plus this air is cooled via the intercooler, so it's not much of a worry. but it may be worth it just to clean thing's up a little bit.

Do it. I thought exactly the same thing before fitting, but it's not a problem at all. The only times mine came on were after long motorway journey's and a couple of warm starts straight after. 2 or 3 cold starts later, it goes off.
Wont cause limp, and if the light being on bother's you, get a cheapo code reader, and delete every so often. Takes 30 seconds

You sure it won't cause limp? Mines hit limp Afew times because of a vac pipe that came out and I really don't wanna hit limp mode again lol. Also EML would piss be of lol. On the 1.7 cdti astras the EML doesn't come on but on our civics it does!!!!
I'm decating soon too
