wouldnt it be easier and cheaoer to but a recon gearbox from a breakers?

mines a right pain still, reverse gears is a knightmare, i dred having to reverse since most of the time it just wont engage! and im sat there reving the engine!!!

hence now i always try and drive straight into a parking space in car parks!!!

Ash, instead of trying to hammer it into reverse all I do if its not working is let it settle in neutral, let the clutch out, press the clutch in then try again to select reverse. Mines doesnt go into reverse that well either, but when i do that then it slots in perfect first time.

yeah the slower you do it the higher chance you have to engaging it, but sometimes the fucking thing just will not go into reverse!!!! lol

First motion shaft has gone on my car, not contacted Honda yet but it's bollocks, this bearing shouldn't be going in a car of this age.

Planning on panning Honda in email, anyone else had any success with this? Read a few places if you stamp your feet enough then you get somewhere.

i am not 100% sure but the old d16a9 engines would take any other d series box. so you could take a box from any other car running the same d engine.
so if you want close ratio changes a concerto box was better. and long ratio box out of a rover.
or try askin daz at dnr perfomance if he has a box spare :D

The gearbox linkages on these ones are totally different though. They have cable shift whereas the older D Series has a reagular shift linkage. :)
