AEM CAI is fantastic. Dunno about fuel consumption, will make it go down coz you`ll be booting it everywhere to hear the noise :x

no mate it doesn`t go in the wheel arch, it sits under the battery tray and close to the bottom of the chassis

Nicky where did u get the kit from and how much?

i bought a powertec one the other day, although its produces a great noise mid to high revs, it seems to lose power when the engine warms up, cause it doesnt have a cold air feed and gets warm very fast.

grunt - get a heatshield and run a cold air feed.

i've only got a K&N 57i (picked it up off fleabay for cheap as chips) and the difference the Cold Air Feed makes is in the words of old tony the frosties tiger GRRRRRREEAATTTT lol

I got it from sumopower on :P for £170
If you don`t give an induction kit a cold air feed it sucks in hot air from the engine heat and this is very bad for the combustion in the engine, cold air is denser and gives a better explosion in the cylinders

The only disadvantage the AEM has over the K&N Typhoon is that it has no weather protection. You can buy an optianl add-on though for the AEM. Where as the K&N typhoon comes with a weather shield.

With either just rember not to drive through any really deep puddles or fords ....

Where is the best place online to order the K&N typhoon for a 05 sport online?

Take it that it comes with everything needed?

k&n supplied cheap at www.filterpower.co.uk

i think the k&n typhoon does actually go in the wheelarch by the looks of it, whereas the aem as above is just 'down there'...

Guys, always get a proper CAI type of induction kit not one that sits in the engine bay !!, when the cones sit in the engine bay it will always suck in hot air even with an air feed direct to the cone, you will lose power sometimes to the extent where you think something is wrong with the engine.
