Sorry for the stupid question what all would i strip from the car to make it worth while? Has anyone on here stripped their EP2 or EP3?

Rear seats, parcel shelf, carpet, plastic trim (especially in the rear, there's tonnes of plastic bits all over the place), doorcards, soundproofing.

A mate of mine stripped the whole of his EP3 (bar the essentials like the dashboard) in an evening. He did the same with his charged EK9.

ye it's defo worth it mate you might not notice any performance diff but it'll help with mpg etc...

get some of that tyre weld stuff (about 7 quid) and remove your spare wheels etc...

i cant do this tbh as i need the rear interior in for the littlun etc but if you dont need it in then why have it in there tbh,...

weight reduction is number one 2bh! but most of you have not just gone and spent 4-6k on a nice civic sport to start ripping interior out and having it looking like some stripped trackcar when you only use it on the roads!! i took the sub and spare wheel out of my car n that was about 35kg between the two of them easy!!

you could get your head ported and polished which is always effective but your going to want to have a bigger bore exhaust and an intake aswell to get full effect from it! and then obviously a remap!

u can spend endless amounts of money on bolt on mods but if your not going to get the engine remapped to cope with the new fuel/air ratios then your not getting your bang for the buck

also get your girlfriend to walk places more often, weight reduction/sound reduction/cleaner interior!! all for free 8-) :D 8-)

I'm curious.. So what if money wasn't an issue, how much power could you get from an EP2 without boosting or nitrous?

How could you get that? Stripping the engine and replacing the components with better?

3/5 angle valve job, other valves, valve springs, skimmed head, intake/exhaust port work.
Intake manifold & intake, exhaust manifold, decat, catback. and a good remap.

sounds bout right my mate spent 3k on his civic and its running bout 160bhp but its kind of a waste might aswell wait for an ep3 where u can get some real power.

i'd say the ep2 is more of a looker than a perfromer

Yeah but I'm doing mechanics at college, and I've bought an EP2 but it's garaged atm, just finished fitting the buddy club kit and waiting for a set of Volk Rays and need to fit the carbon fiber bonnet and and boot :D Project car from the ground up! I have plenty of time and nothing else to throw my cash at 8-)

I've spent close to £5000 just on the body kit, carbon fiber and alloys :D haha! And I've just scratched my wing today so I will need to get it re-sprayed! Can't wait to write it all up 8-)
