in all fairness i have never times myself in the civic.

but i honestly believe i could beat the 10.2s.

i timed myself in my old saxo and beat the book time by a good few secs.

the book is all bollocks anyway tbh. the mpg on average sts 42mpg (i think) but even with mega eco driving i think you could just about manage this, but i mean mega eco... the last few days i;ve drove mega eco. 50 on mways changing at 2k round roads, staying in speed limits etc... no booting at all. no heaters on or anything and still only got 41mpg.

mpg's are done at a constant speed in controlled environments...so you'll never get the figure...unless u start the mile count when your already moving at constant speed and sit at it for a certain distance
if your speed changes even slightly then your fooked!!

depends on the car, some have 120bhp as standard, as long as its over a certain level there allowed to sell it  getting the 0-60 as per the book is extremely hard though if you have little or no mods, as the manufacturers figures are done by computers on dyno-like machines, well done if you did mate! my old clio was 18seconds 0-60, yet to try the civic though, might do that at some point

Thats their time, 10.2, Standard issue acceleration (whatever that is  ) You can get it shorter but you've gotta thrape it to do that so I can understand taking a second off by giving it some but im not keen on the idea of goin up to 5000+.

so even getting a quicker start by using "launch control" (ie holding it at about 4k rpm and dumping the clutch) would give better results?
