Its a 1.7 CDTi.
The only diesel model you can get in 3 door iirc!

It has an unreliable Isuzu engine, turbo goes on them quite a lot.

Yup, and the belt pully tensioner bearings.It has an unreliable Isuzu engine, turbo goes on them quite a lot.
My mate used to have 1 and was never out the garage with problems.

My mate had one and the bearings in the turbo went twice.
Honda now make there own diesels now, and there one of the best diesel engies around.
However shame on them for using the isuzu engine in the first place.

Yup, turbo was goin aswell before he smashed it!!
To be fair, isuzu engines are normaly good, hardy engines. Think they jus made a boob with that 1.

The new 2.2 i-CTDI is a great engine tho and ofcourse is made by honda so it must be good. haha. Has got a fair amount of torque on it

I've got one, on a 54 plate, not had any problems so far....
Came on here to find out if anyone had any ideas for parts/tuning of them etc, i know theres a lot for the 2.2 just wondered if there was anything out there for the 1.7D?

the 2.2 ctdi engine is used in the accord, cr-v and such bigger honda's.
think there's a new diesel technology being used now called dtec?

The new FN diesel has a 2.2.
