If so, ive had this noise for 2.5 years, and it aint the gearbox.
Gearbox noises are normally heard at low revs whether accelerating or de-accelerating and if it was arnold clark Kirkcaldy you took it to, i wouldn't belive a word they thick fuckers told me.

I mean on mine, put it in neutral and lift the clutch and theres a whirring noise, sounds like bearings. Only when the clutch is lifted.
Spoke to a mechanic about it, he said dont worry about it, nothings going to happen to it. But if i really wanted to, i could change the gearbox oil/transmission fluid, and see if that made a difference.
Im not going to bother. Been like that for about 3 years
Also, you could take the mods off, and take it to another garage?

EP2, do you get it only when the clutch is raised?

Mine only does it when the revs are falling, even if the cluth is down (dis-engaged) to change gear.

There is a very helpful and very specific piece of law-related writing on EPhatch regarding this issue. It pretty much lets you know what mods will void it. Prepare yourself with a cuppa and some biscuits though, it's a long read!
