Hi all, I am looking to get a new set of wheels for my EP2 VTEC Sport.
I'm after a set of 17" wheels and i have seen these on POTN.co.uk that i realy fancy.

They are Rota Force 17 x 7.5" (Black with red lip Lightweight Series)

Before i order them, can anyone tell me what wheel and tire size is fitted to the EP3 as standard. I'm thinking they are 17 x 7" wheels with 215/45/17 Tires.
Is this correct?
I need to know this as the wheels i'm getting are 7.5" wide and will require wider tires than standard. Something like a 225/40/17 i guess, although the standard 215/45/17's will still fit....

Cheers!
Steve.

how much are they? bcoz id try rarerims.co.uk before you buy em, from my experience rarerims have always given the best price on rotas.

Remember half an inch is only just over 1cm, not much over the width of a wheel. Make sure you get them in the correct offset(35-38mm I think but you better check)

The right tyre size for these (can't remember what it is off the top of my head) is about half the price of the standard TypeR tyre size

well at the moment i have 205/55/16's and if i upgrade to 17x7.5" i will probably need 215/45/17's to keep the diameter and the speedo reading the same...
can anyone with a Type R confirm their stock tire size?

be better for the speedo the smaller they are tbh... the sidewall in 45 will be huge :) 215/40/17 would be perfect! the bigger the rolling radius the slower it is..

oh and dont get Remoulds :)

Damn.. you have just worked out my nickname lol...

yeah, the 215/45/17's have a slightly smaller diameter than the 205/55/16's. I would prefer a smaller aspect ratio, but iv'e only just lowered it, don't want to start getting tire clearance again.. lol

Standard tyre size is 205/40x17, if you get 7.5 inch wheels I think you'd be needing 215/40x17 tyres, the sidewall will be slightly higher than the 205/40 but not enough to give you any issues as it's the most common size of aftermarket 17s I've seen on TypeRs and I haven't heard of anyone having bother, lowered or not.

standard tyre size which is run from an EP3 from factory is 205/45/17, usually Bridgestone RE040 or RE050 from standard. I work as an apprentice at Honda Leeds  in parts department lol.

Thanks for your help everybody. I'll probably get 215/40/17's for the 17"x7.5"...
The only problem is that i keep changing my mind. lol. I may go for either the Rota Force (Bronze), Rota Boost (gunmetal) or Rota Torque (Bronze).
