@BB Baboonface nightmare! lol didnt leave til 5.30pm, got home at 8.30pm traffic was awful

To be fair, it ended up being a totally pointless and expencive day lol

from waiting since 9am for a smaller belt to arrive, it finally turned up at 2pm. Yes i was sat an TDi for 5 hours lol

they got the 3.2 pulley and belt fitted and then onto the dyno for 2 hours!

Paul couldn't get the power any higher then 285bhp because the clutch couldn't hold, just kept slipping. Still got the OEM clutch on, i knew it would need replacing at some point due to the extra power the charger puts on it. Ive done well to get 2+ years out of it. Does feel better to drive but now i need a new clutch. Didnt think i was going to get home at one point, about 30 mins my house i started slipping like made and stinking but i managed to tip toe home.

Few things they found :

Small leak from the oil sump (needs a new rubber)

Tracking out

Buckled front alloy (was bouncing on the dyno)

HKS b-pipe too restrictive, need 3"

More money!!

Hi

Got the new rear brakes pre-fitted.

6 pot on the front, and 4 pot rear should do the job.

#446119 Gus'S Track Build Ep3 (*Update Pg 52*)

Posted by Gus-ep3 on 11 September 2013 - 10:45 PM

I can't believe it's been over a year since i posted on here.

Not much has happened, i've still got the car but it's on hold for a year as i've bought a house. I'm still tinkering with it now and again when i get time. I sold the Mugen cage as i decided to start competing with it, so it went and i bought an OMP through dash cage which is FIA approved. I will really miss the Mugen though, it was such a lovely cage and fitted so well.

Not had time to fit this yet. I'll be welding in the door bars and thinking about a harness bar aswell.

I also bought this wee chappie.    Will try and get a vid up of it soon. It's pretty mental tbh, don't think i'll be allowed on any tracks with it......   :-(  I'll maybe need do a drag day just to get a shot of it.

Lol at least this site has a sense of humour other Type R sites that I wont mention and I dont post in any more are very strict. I have th spelling disorder which is hard too spell lol irony,  so I appologies in advance auto correct is my best friend well kind off, chunky fingers  lol  I am never offensive in what i write and I can take a comment  as I admire commical comments as life too short to be to too serious. Any thing I can do to help out with advice, generally after problems I learn of first hand I will gladly.

I love learning stuff saves so much on garage fees! I need to build my no claims up before i even consider a Teg so figured ill keep this girl running for as long as possible, this weekends swap plan -

Engine ,box, subframe, shafts, brakes ,calipers , sport mounts. Very busy weekend indeed! Couldn't of entertained the idea without help from some epcivic members (you know who you are) no more oil burning and p2646 coming up on diagnostics! Im dropping from 165k to 55k :)
