Took the car down to my mechanic today (because I am a noob at everything to do with cars) and he had a look at the pads and said that they have worn down :P so he says he can replace the pads (and discs only if needed) on saturday :D been using the mechanic for a year with the polo and my brothers used him since he started driving so i trust the guy's word :P hopefully won't be squeaking through glasgow city centre after sat lol

Thanks for the posts tho! :D

Cool, glad to hear this.  The braking system on the car is THE most important system. Better to be safe then through a wall.

@Sbarrie1992 add your name to the list on the thread for me.

@Neil @dazep2

Got new pads and discs and the squeaking has gone. Thanks very much for the replies :D

Only issue now is that the mechanic obviously has tightened the handbrake but forgot to put the plastic trim around the handbrake back on properly leaving a small gap which just annoys me because it's all supposed to sit flush :P I assume this will be an easy fix? Remove 2 screws at the back, push into place, replace screws?Attached File  20150510_022936.jpg   122.41K   0 downloads

Fixed it, easy peasy. went to the mechanic to get the car and ended up costing 340 for 4 discs and pads + apparently my calliper was seized not sure which one. Quite a pain wasn't expecting the backs to be needing done since i bought the car 6 months ago and had them replaced. Was planning to get a Type R spoiler and roof done in time for knockhill but ill be going as standard as possible now lol >.<

perhaps the sticking calliper has caused the rears to wear. It is a common issue with EP Callipers.
